GENERAL INFORMATION POLICIES and GUESTS RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIVACY/PRIVATE PROPERTY POLICY: Adjacent properties and lots are the
private property of our neighbors and MUST not be trespassed. There MUST be courtesy to our neighbors regards to outdoor noise
levels. After 11pm, outdoor noise volumes MUST be kept to a minimum in respect to our neighbors.
OCCUPANCY Provisions:
3 bedroom Cottage Villa: Maximum occupancy is 6 persons without additional charges, including children. There
is a $15/guest/per day above limit with permission.
FIREWOOD:
Some Firewood may be provided. This is for use at the bonfire pit by registered guests. Please put out fires before
retiring for the night.
WOOD BURNING STOVES: Please have
/ ask permission. If operated, must be operated with stove doors CLOSED AT ALL TIMES and all flammable items 6’
feet away from stove heat.
LINENS: Bed sheets, Kitchen towels,
and dish clothes are provided. Hand towels and washcloths, mattress pads, comforters, pillows and extra blankets are freshly
supplied.
Please bring your personal Bath and Beach Towels.
NO PET
POLICY: No pets are allowed on the property.
SMOKING POLICY:
Our lodgings are family oriented NON-SMOKING INSIDE. If you choose to smoke outside, we ask that you please do not litter
cigarette butts or debris and please keep the canal, river and grounds clear of butts and debris... PLEASE use an
ashtray container.
WATER SAFETY POLICIES, PLEASE EXPLAIN THESE RULES TO ALL CHILDREN:
NO LIFE GUARD ON DUTY AT ANY TIME
WATER CRAFT SAFETY POLICY: AT YOUR OWN RISK. Damage to any
private watercraft or any additional private property,damage while on the premises is the responsibility of the registered
guests.
ROW BOAT, OARS & LIFE JACKETS: Please return
oars and life jackets to designated area after each use. Please moor the boat to the dock area.
SWIMMING: There is NO LIFE GUARD ON DUTY. Respond and call 911 in an emergency.
Please watch your children...
BOAT/MOTOR POLICY: No Wake
on the canal. Boat and fish at your own risk.
TWO PERSON PADDLEBOAT POLICY: Only two persons with life jackets
on at one time. Please do not allow your children to enter the North Channel, the current is = 5MPH and can quickly take anyone
into rough and dangerous waters. PLEASE STAY IN THE CANAL AREAS...
JET SKI POLICY: State Of Michigan “WATER CRAFT SAFETY” available for you to read. Boat at
your own risk and Please boat responsibly...
GUEST BOAT POLICY:
Dockage is provided for Blue Water Island Getaway guests only. Visiting friends/relative may use dockage with check-in
permission.
RESERVATION POLICIES
Registered guests must be at least 21 years of age.
PAYMENT POLICY: We accept Visa, MasterCard, Travelers Checks, and Personal Checks made out to
BWIG. Mail deposit checks to: Blue Water Island Getaway, 1321 North Channel Drive, Harsens Island, MI 48028
MINIMUM BOOKING DEPOSIT POLICY: A $100 deposit is necessary to confirm your
reservation. This is a part of your total balance due.
FINAL PAYMENT: Balance due payments are to be received
30 days prior to arrival and may be made via personal check, certified check, or credit card. Personal checks must clear prior
to arrival. Visa, and Master Card are accepted. logo
SECURITY DEPOSIT: A $100 security deposit is due with
final payment.
SECURITY REFUND: After checkout, the entire Security Deposit will be returned to you
within 3 days of departure if the accommodation is left in tact and in good order. Otherwise, expense fees will be documented
and deducted from the Security Deposit.
CHECK-IN/CHECKOUT POLICY: Check-in time is 3:00 pm. Checkout
time is 11:30am or unless otherwise arranged. We
have special check-in /checkout times for weekday bookings. Guests should please return cottage
to near original condition. Sheets may remain on top of the beds for staff cleaning. Upon your departure, we would appreciate
it if guests please leave the cottage as they found it. We ask that you leave the kitchen clean, dishes in the cupboards,
collect trash and put it in garbage bags and put all linens in provided hampers. Please shut all windows and doors and
leave your key on the kitchen table. Please return DVDs and VCR Movies to their designated spot.
CANCELLATION/REFUND
POLICY:
If your plans change,
please notify us as soon as possible. A service fee will be charged for cancellations. Funds paid may be refundable
depending on whether the property manages to rent out during the same period.
Cancellations with more than 30 days notice
before arrival date will be charged a non-refundable $50 service fee and will have the balance of your deposit returned.
Cancellations with less than 30 days notice
before arrival date will be charged a non-refundable $100 service fee. A cancellation fee of 25% of the
total booking will also be charged, unless the property can be re-booked to someone else during the same period.
Cancellations with less than 8 days notice
before arrival date will be charged the $100 deposit fee. A cancellation fee of 50% of the total booking
will also be charged, unless the property can be re-booked to someone else during the same period.
